Support for young people

I offer counselling for young people aged 11+, providing a calm, supportive space where they can talk openly and feel listened to without judgement. Many young people find it difficult to put their feelings into words, and counselling can offer them time and space to explore what’s going on in a way that feels safe and respectful.

I have over fifteen years’ experience working with young people in school settings, initially in a listening and pastoral role and more recently as a counsellor. Through this work, I have supported young people experiencing issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, school refusal, anger, emotional regulation difficulties, grief, neurodivergence, and self-harm.

Counselling can help young people make sense of their emotions, build coping strategies, and develop greater confidence and self-understanding. Sessions are led at the young person’s pace, using age-appropriate language and approaches, and always with sensitivity to their individual needs.

I understand that, as a parent or carer, it can be worrying to see a young person struggle. I aim to work in a way that balances a young person’s right to privacy with appropriate safeguarding and communication, so that you can feel reassured while your child feels safe and respected.

I offer both in-person and online counselling for young people.

If you would like to ask questions or explore whether counselling might be helpful for your child, you’re welcome to get in touch to discuss this further.
